The Township of Edwardsburgh Cardinal has officially proclaimed September 23 to 29, 2024, as Rail Safety Week.

Held annually in September, Rail Safety Week is a great opportunity to inform the public about the importance of rail safety and the risks of trespassing and not obeying signs and signals at grade crossings.This initiative, supported by CN and Operation Lifesaver, aims to educate the public on rail safety, reduce avoidable incidents, and save lives. With 229 rail-related incidents in 2023, including 66 fatalities, this week is crucial for raising awareness in our community.
