Community Development Coordinator
The Township of Edwardsburgh Cardinal is seeking an energetic individual to fill the permanent, full time position of Community Development Coordinator.
Reporting to the CAO/Clerk, the Community Development Coordinator assists in administration of functions related to planning, economic development and recreation. Functions include administration of various applications under the Planning Act, marketing, communications, media relations, website administration and grant preparation.
Additionally, this position will fulfill statutory requirements under the Emergency Management and Civil Protection Act (Emergency Information Officer) as well as the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
Post-secondary education in a related field is required. The successful candidate will have demonstrated computer skills in various software programs related to website maintenance, internet and social media, and Microsoft Office. The Community Development Coordinator must be able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing with coworkers, council and members of the public. Tact and discretion in dealing with sensitive and highly confidential matters will be a requirement. Excellent analytical, organizational and decision-making skills are essential in determining priorities and working to deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Experience in a municipal administrative environment is an asset. Completion of, or willingness to pursue, the AMCTO’s Municipal Administration Program will be required.
Edwardsburgh/Cardinal is a progressive municipality with a population of 7,000 distributed in a dynamic mix of rural areas and small urban centers. The municipality is strategically located for economic development at the intersection of Highway 401 and Highway 416. The Township offers a comprehensive benefit package and is an OMERS employer. The 2018 salary range for the position is $47,218-$59,023 annually, based on a 35 hour work week.
