The project contractor, Cornwall Gravel Company, provides the following notice related to paving on Pittston Road.
RE: Surface Renewal Overlay Contract
Cornwall Gravel Company Limited will be completing hot mix paving work along Pittston Road
and Hanesville Road as part of the United Counties of Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry’s Surface
Renewal Overlay (SRO) Contract. This project is a collaborative effort between the Municipality
of South Dundas, Township of Edwardsburgh Cardinal, and the Counties to coordinate roadway
improvements in advance of the upcoming Pittston Creek Bridge rehabilitation project.
The work will consist of roadway resurfacing to provide a smoother and more comfortable driving
surface for the travelling public. Construction is currently scheduled to begin May 20, 2026,
between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m., weather permitting.
Residents will continue to have access to their properties throughout construction; however,
temporary delays should be expected during active paving operations. Where possible, the
travelling public is encouraged to avoid the area during working hours to help reduce traffic
congestion and allow the work to be completed safely and efficiently.
Cornwall Gravel Company Limited will take every precaution to minimize interruptions during
construction and appreciates the public’s patience and cooperation while this work is being
