Annual Community Awards
The Township of Edwardsburgh Cardinal is proud to celebrate those that make our community a great place to live, work, and play, through our Annual Community Awards.
Nomination categories reopened
We received many great nominations for Small Business of the Year and Community Organization/Volunteer Group of the Year, but no nominations were received in some categories.
Council has reopened nominations for:
- Citizen of the Year
- Youth Citizen of the Year
- Large Business of the Year
We know there are deserving residents, youth and businesses making a difference in Edwardsburgh Cardinal, and we want to hear about them!
Make a nomination
If you know a person or business who deserves to be recognized, nominate them by November 4, 2026.
Awards ceremony
The 2026 Community Awards will be presented on Thursday, January 14, 2027. Additional event details will be shared closer to the date.
Award categories and eligibility
The following criteria apply to all award categories:
- Multiple individuals may nominate the same individual, business or organization.
- Nominees may not self-nominate for an award.
- Nominations must be submitted using the official nomination form. The form is available on the Township website or in person at the Township Office.
- Submissions may be supported with video or photos.
- Parent/guardian consent is required for nominees under 18 years old.
- All nominations will be reviewed by Council and their decision is final.
Categories

This award recognizes a young person making a positive impact in their community. They help improve the well-being of others in areas such as recreation, arts, education, community service, health, or business and demonstrate leadership, creativity, or initiative in their efforts.
The recipient must be an individual between 12 and 17 years old and live in the Township of Edwardsburgh Cardinal.
This award recognizes a small business that provides exceptional service and community involvement.
The Small Business nominee must be an active business located within the Township of Edwardsburgh Cardinal and employ less than 20 people.
This award celebrates a business that contributes to the local economy and community in meaningful ways.
The nominee must be an active business within the Township of Edwardsburgh Cardinal with 20 or more employees.
Community Organization/Volunteer Group of the Year
This award honours a volunteer group, service club, or community organization that has contributed to improving the Township.
The nominee must be an active organization/group located within the Township of Edwardsburgh Cardinal.
