Visit Register to Vote today to check to see if you are on the voter’s list, update information, or add yourself to the list. Your voice is important; make sure you are on the list and register using the button below.
If you’re on the list, you’ll get a Voter Information Letter before Election Day, with the details for voting in person or online. If you’re not on the list, you can apply to have your name added until August 13, 2026. Starting September 1, 2026, you can update your information on the Voters List by contacting the Clerk’s Department. More details will be provided closer to the date.
2026 Edwardsburgh Cardinal municipal elections
The 2026 Municipal Elections will determine who will serve as the five (5) Council members for the Township of Edwardsburgh Cardinal. Council is comprised of a Mayor, Deputy Mayor and three (3) Councillors, each of which represents a ward.
Municipal Council serves a 4-year term as per the Municipal Elections Act. The current term of Council is from December 15, 2022, to November 14, 2026, with the next election scheduled to take place on October 26, 2026.
Decisions made by Council have direct impact on the residents of Edwardsburgh Cardinal. Council oversees the Township’s operations and services to ensure tax dollars are spent effectively and efficiently. Their main role is to lead the Township into the future through strategic planning and development.
Edwardsburgh Cardinal residents and property owners will be able to cast their vote in the Municipal and School Board Elections from anywhere with internet access or telephone service. This means eligible voters will have the ability to vote from the comfort of their own home, on the go, and at voting locations – more information on voting locations will be available later in 2026.
Important dates for the 2026 election
- Nomination Period: Monday, May 1, 2026 (9:00 am) to Friday, August 21, 2026 (2:00 pm)
- Third Party Advertisers Registration: Monday, May 1, 2026 (8:30 am) to Friday, October 23, 2026 (4:30 pm)
- Deadline for Candidates to Withdraw a Nomination: Friday, August 21, 2026 (2:00 pm)
- Advanced Electronic Voting: Monday, October 19, 2026 (10:00 am) to Monday, October 26, 2026 (9:59 am)
- Election Day: Monday, October 26, 2026 (voting ends at 8:00 pm)

Accessibility
The Municipal Election Accessibility Plan address specific accessibility requirements in relation to the 2026 Municipal Election in the Township. The Township has made great efforts in promoting a barrier free community. This planning document was developed in advance of the election in order to identify measures to be taken and reported to Council following the election.
Section 12.1(3) of the Municipal Elections Act requires that the Clerk shall prepare a Post Municipal Election Accessibility Report about the identification, removal and prevention of barriers that affect electors and candidates with disabilities and shall make that report available to the public. In addition to the requirement, included within the report are the statistics and an overall impression of the 2022 Municipal Election.
