April 7 is Green Shirt Day for Organ and Tissue Donation
The Township of Edwardsburgh Cardinal has officially proclaimed April 7 as Green Shirt Day, joining communities across Canada in raising awareness for organ and tissue donation and honouring the legacy of Logan Boulet.
Green Shirt Day is inspired by the life and selfless decision of 21-year-old Logan Boulet, a Humboldt Broncos hockey player who died in the 2018 bus crash that claimed 16 lives. Logan had registered as an organ donor, and his decision saved six lives. His story sparked a national movement and led to one of the largest surges in organ donor registrations in Canadian history, now known as the “Logan Boulet Effect.”
Through this proclamation, we encourage you to wear green, register your decision as an organ and tissue donor and talk to your family so they are aware of your wishes.
