Brush and Leaf Collection
TWPEC will once again provide fall brush and leaf collection, along with free drop-off opportunities at the Scott Road Transfer Station. This service is weather-dependent and will only take place if winter conditions do not arrive early.
Curbside collection is scheduled in the built-up areas of:
- Cardinal on Tuesday, November 4
- Johnstown, Spencerville and New Wexford on Wednesday, November 5
The Scott Road Transfer Station will also accept brush and leaves on Wednesday, November 12 from 7:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., with fees waived. In addition, fees will be waived during regular operating hours throughout November.
Brush and leaf curbside collection guidelines
To ensure your materials are collected, please follow these rules:
- Place materials at the curb by 7:30 a.m. on your scheduled day. Do not set bags out more than 48 hours in advance, and keep them dry.
- Branches must be no longer than 1.2 metres (4 feet).
- No roots will be collected. Please remove all root bases from trees and shrubs.
- Tree limbs and trunks must not exceed 75 mm (3 inches) in diameter.
- Bundles must be tied securely, no more than 450 mm (18 inches) in diameter and 18 kg (40 lbs) in weight. A maximum of 12 bundles will be collected.
- Collection is for leaves, limbs and branches only. No construction materials or other debris will be accepted.
- Leaves must be placed in clear plastic or paper composting bags. Do not include garbage or other items. A maximum of 12 bags will be collected.
