Cardinal Mart Brings Grocery Shopping Close to Home
Members of Edwardsburgh Cardinal Council joined business owner Kashyap Patel and staff on Saturday, November 7, to celebrate the grand opening of Cardinal Mart at Village Square Mall in Cardinal.
Mayor Tory Deschamps, Deputy Mayor Stephen Dillabough, Councillor Joe Martelle and Councillor Chris Ward attended the ribbon-cutting ceremony, where Council presented Patel with a commemorative scroll recognizing the occasion.
Located at 623 County Road 2, Cardinal Mart provides residents with convenient access to groceries and everyday essentials, including fresh produce, dairy products, frozen foods and household items.
The addition of a grocery store is particularly significant for Cardinal, giving residents more opportunities to shop locally and access essential goods close to home.
"On behalf of Council and the Township of Edwardsburgh Cardinal, I want to extend a warm welcome and a sincere thank you to Kashyap Patel for his investment in Cardinal and our community," said Mayor Tory Deschamps.
"As a Council, we recognize just how important having a grocery store is to a small community like ours. We are incredibly fortunate to have Cardinal Mart serving our residents and providing such an essential service close to home."
Deputy Mayor Stephen Dillabough also recognized Patel's commitment to the community.
"Thank you Kashyap for filling a big gap in our community in Cardinal by opening Subway and Cardinal Mart. Your hard work and dedication do not go overlooked by the people of Cardinal and the council members of Edwardsburgh Cardinal."
The opening follows the recent grand opening of the Cardinal Thrift Store at the same commercial property, bringing additional shopping opportunities to the village.
Congratulations to Kashyap Patel and his team on the grand opening of Cardinal Mart. We wish them continued success.
