Celebrate the Season with Holiday Events

The Township of Edwardsburgh Cardinal is welcoming the holiday season with family-friendly events for all ages.

CPKC Holiday Train

Join the Town of Prescott, the Township of Edwardsburgh Cardinal, and the Township of Augusta for a festive bus trip to Merrickville to see the annual Holiday Train and support South Grenville Food Bank.

Date: Friday, November 28, 2025

Pick-up locations and times:

• Johnstown Community Centre – 3 p.m.

• Alaine Chartrand Community Centre – 3:15 p.m.

Concert time: 5 p.m. with performers Jade Eagleson and Teigen Gayse

Departure from Merrickville: 6 p.m.

Registration is required, admission is free. Cash or food donations to the local food bank are encouraged.

Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times. This is an outdoor event, so dress for the weather.

Holiday Family Night at the Edwardsburgh Cardinal Public Library

Celebrate the season with Santa, our jolly guest, and have some family fun at the library.

• Play reindeer games
• Hear holiday stories
• Visit with Santa
• Photos are welcome. Bring your own camera to capture your memories

Enjoy this festive family evening at:

• Cardinal Branch on Wednesday, December 3 at 6:30 p.m.
• Spencerville Branch on Wednesday, December 10 at 6:30 p.m.

All ages are welcome with a caregiver.

Holiday Cookie Decorating

Join us for a fun and festive afternoon of cookie decorating

Date: Sunday, December 7
Time: 12 p.m. to 3 p.m.
Location: South Edwardsburgh Community Centre

This family-friendly event is open to kids and adults who love to get creative. All supplies are provided, just bring your holiday spirit and imagination. Decorate delicious cookies, enjoy the cheerful atmosphere, and make sweet memories together.

Registration is available online or contact our Recreation Coordinator to make a reservation.

Sensory-Friendly Santa Visit

Families are invited to enjoy a Sensory-Friendly Santa Visit on Saturday, December 20 from 12 to 4 p.m. at the South Edwardsburgh Community Centre in Johnstown.

This event is designed to provide a calm and inclusive holiday experience for children who may benefit from a quieter, low-stimulation environment. Each family will have a 15-minute private visit with Santa, allowing time to make holiday memories in a relaxed and welcoming setting.

The event will feature gentle lighting, reduced noise, and sensory supports to ensure a comfortable visit for all participants.

Registration is required. Families can register online or contact our Recreation Coordinator to reserve their time slot.

Skating with Santa

Skating with Santa returns to both community arenas this December!

• Ingredion Centre: Friday, December 19 from 6 to 7:30 p.m.
• Spencerville Arena: Sunday, December 21 from 2 to 3:30 p.m.

Families can enjoy free community skating, festive music, and the chance to skate alongside Santa.
Donations of non-perishable food items are appreciated and will support local food initiatives.

Holiday Skating

Enjoy free Holiday Skating sessions at both community arenas throughout the season. These recreational skates offer a festive way to stay active and spend time with family and friends.

Spencerville Arena:
• December 21, 24, 28, and 31 from 2 to 3:30 p.m.

Ingredion Centre:
• December 23 and 30 from 2 to 3:30 p.m.
• December 19 and January 2 from 6 to 7:30 p.m.

All sessions are free and open to all ages.
Bring your skates, share the ice, and celebrate the holidays in a cheerful, family atmosphere.
