Private lessons
Private lessons are designed to support swimmers with unique sensory needs by offering one-on-one instruction. These lessons use adapted teaching techniques such as reduced noise, a slower pace, and visual cues to create a calm and supportive environment. With a flexible structure that emphasizes comfort, routine, and trust, sensory lessons are often held during quieter pool times. Instructors typically have experience or training in working with children who are neurodivergent or have physical or developmental challenges.
Private lessons are offered at Johnstown Pool on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m.. The cost is $100 for five 30-minute private lessons. To register, contact our Aquatics Director.
