Township Reminds Residents of Payment Options During Postal Service Disruptions

How to pay your property taxes

Due to recent changes, many mortgage companies and banks no longer include property tax payments with mortgages. The Township offers several ways to pay:

  • Payments through your bank
Provide your tax bill details to your Canadian bank. Service charges may apply.
  • Pre-authorized payment plan
Sign up to have equal monthly payments automatically withdrawn from your account, with no fees or interest. Adjustments are made in August to ensure full payment by December 31.
  • Online banking
Add “Edwardsburgh/Cardinal” as a payee. Use your 19-digit property roll number from your tax bill as your account number. If you bank with RBC, drop the last four zeros.
  • Telephone banking
Call your bank’s telephone banking number and follow the instructions using your property roll number.
  • In-person
Pay at the Township Hall, 18 Centre St., Spencerville, during business hours by cash, cheque, or debit. Cheques may also be dropped off 24/7, in the secure drop-off mailbox.
