Green Shirt Day Logo

The Township of Edwardsburgh Cardinal has officially proclaimed April 7 as Green Shirt Day, joining communities across Canada in raising awareness for organ and tissue donation and honoring the legacy of Logan Boulet.

Green Shirt Day is inspired by the life and selfless decision of 21-year-old Logan Boulet, a Humboldt Broncos hockey player who died in the 2018 bus crash that claimed 16 lives. Logan had registered as an organ donor, and his decision saved six lives. His story sparked a national movement and led to one of the largest surges in organ donor registrations in Canadian history, known as the “Logan Boulet Effect.”

Through the proclamation, the Township encourages residents to wear green, talk to their families about organ donation, and register as donors. Township council members wear today green to mark the occasion and show their support.

Residents are encouraged learn more about Green Shirt Day and organ donation.

Together, we can build awareness, inspire conversations, and continue Logan’s legacy of generosity and hope.
