The Township of Edwardsburgh Cardinal provides a suite of recreational programming for seniors and older adults, which encourage active living, fitness and healthy lifestyles.

Weekday morning walking group

Opening Saturday August 7th, 2021

Join a group of adults and seniors, who come out every weekday morning to walk the track at the Ingredion Centre in Cardinal, chat and enjoy each other's company from 8:00 a.m. to 10 a.m.

Line dancing and yoga classes

Temporarily suspended until further notice due to COVID-19.

We provide line dancing classes upstairs at the Township Hall in Spencerville. We also provide yoga classes upstairs at the Township Hall and in Johnstown at the South Edwardsburgh Community Centre.

Y on the Fly fitness classes

Temporarily suspended until further notice due to COVID-19.

We provide seniors' fitness classes with the YMCA's Y on the Fly program on Fridays from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the South Edwardsburgh Community Centre. Come out and get active every week with members of your community!

Volunteer Centre of St. Lawrence-Rideau

The Volunteer Centre of St. Lawrence-Rideau provides leadership opportunities, training and placement for volunteers in non-profit organizations, and helps create a sense of belonging and inclusion in the community for volunteers.

Royal Canadian Legion

The Royal Canadian Legion has two branches in the Township, with one in Cardinal and one in Spencerville. Join the Legion to take part in making a difference in the lives of veterans and their families, providing essential services in the community, and remembering the men and women who sacrificed in the line of duty.

Edwardsburgh Cardinal Public Library

Discover the Edwardsburgh Cardinal Public Library's many community resources, including fiction and non-fiction book lending, book clubs, computer and internet access, magazines and periodicals, adult programming, volunteer opportunities, homebound services, tech tutorials and eBooks.

Spencerville English Country Dance Club

The Spencerville English Country Dance Club welcomes all participants to learn the style of English Country Dancing, a major choice of entertainment and activity for social gatherings since the early 1800s. Learners of all backgrounds are welcome and you don't need to bring your own partner. The club also hosts its annual Regency Ball. Visit their website to learn more.

Johnstown ATV Club

The Johnstown All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV) Club welcomes both casual and die-hard riders. The club's trail system extends from the Husky Truck Stop near Johnstown to Merrickville and area. Club rides, monthly meetings and annual events are provided to members each year.
