person caught a fish and is releasing it

SNC’s annual youth fish camp reels in young anglers from across the watershed every summer!

Knowing the rules, where to drop a line, and how to identify fish species are all on the agenda. SNC offers youth the opportunity to have fun while learning about fly fishing from the experts and to become familiar with the natural environment in the watershed. We provide them with the skills and tools to fish responsibly, including a free rod. New skills are put into practice which includes catch and release. Participants are 9 to 13-years old, and don’t require any previous fishing experience. Camp locations rotate throughout the watershed during July and August.

Registration is now open for South Nation Conservation's (SNC) 13th Annual Youth Fish Camp in Eastern Ontario! Learn more and register on SNC's website.

The cost to participate in this hands on learning Fish Camp is $40. Youth must be between the ages of 9 and 13 to register. The price includes a fishing rod, tackle and some snacks.

Additional COVID-19 measures will be in place to ensure safety of youth and staff.

Youth will enjoy two days of fishing at an SNC Conservation Area where they will learn about fishing rules and regulations along with new fishing techniques to help them "Learn to Fish"! Other environmentally-focused activities include fish identification, water quality testing and citizen science, invasive species awareness, and creation of fly fishing ties, among others.

Registration is on a first-come-first-served basis and is not complete until SNC has confirmed receipt of your registration form and has contacted you directly to make payment.
