The Township of Edwardsburgh Cardinal owns and operates a waste transfer station at 1225 Scott Rd. in Cardinal. For more information on municipal waste disposal regulations, view our Garbage Collection Bylaw.

Scott Road Transfer Station

You can dispose of large waste items that cannot be placed for regular curbside collection at our Scott Road Transfer Station at 1225 Scott Rd. in Cardinal. 

Hours of operation and fees

The Scott Road Transfer Station is open to residents from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. (noon) on Saturdays. The site is closed on all statutory holidays.

The cost of disposing all residential waste that cannot be collected through weekly curbside collection, is $1 per cubic foot. We only accept pre-paid punch cards at the transfer station. You can order pre-paid cards online, in-person at the Township office, or at Burchell's Home Hardware at 623 Village Square, Cardinal.

Miscellaneous fees

• Tire - free
• White goods and specified metal washers, dryers, stoves, refrigerators and freezers (compressors removed), hot water tanks - $10 each
• Large items, such as chesterfields, chairs, mattresses, box springs, furniture, tables and cabinets, etc. - $10 each
• Brush, leaves and garden waste - $5 per load
• Scrap metal - $10 per load
• Electronics - $10 each

Prohibited items

The following items are not accepted at the Scott Road Transfer Station:

• Car bodies
• Construction waste
• Dead animals
• Farm machinery
• Flooring and carpeting materials
• Hazardous waste
• Industrial waste
• Recyclable waste that can be set out for curbside collection
• Residential garbage that can be set out for curbside collection
