The Township of Edwardsburgh Cardinal is committed to keeping residents informed and engaged. In addition to fulfilling all statutory advertising requirements—such as signage, mailings, and/or newspaper ads—this webpage serves as an extra resource to keep you informed about public meetings and open houses, at which you can learn more about a local initiative, provide feedback, and participate in the decision-making process.

Public meetings

A public meeting is a formal gathering where information is presented and feedback is shared on specific topics such as planning applications. These meetings may be required by legislation or simply initiated by Council. They provide an opportunity for residents to share concern or show support before decisions are made. These meetings are structured and it is recommended that you arrive at the meeting start time.

If there is an appeal period following a decision, notice of the application will remain here until the appeal period has ended. Public meetings are also shared on our Council Calendar , where you can find meeting agendas, minutes and a video link to watch online. If you'd like to participate virtually in a public meeting, please contact our Clerk.

October 6, 2025: Community Improvement Plan

Bylaw 2025-70 was passed on December 8 at the regular meeting of Council. This bylaw adopts the Investing Together in our Community's Future Community Improvement Plan. For additional information and to view the Notice of Decision, please view the project webpage.

A Statutory Public Meeting was be held under the Planning Act on Monday, October 6, 2025 at 6:00 p.m. in Council Chambers, 18 Centre Street, Spencerville. At this meeting, NPG Consulting and Tim Welch Consulting presented a proposed Community Improvement Plan (CIP) for the Township of Edwardsburgh Cardinal. The CIP is intended to provide financial incentives that encourage economic development, the creation of additional housing, and community revitalization.

Open Houses

An open house is a more informal opportunity to learn about Township projects, proposals, or policies. You can drop in to review information, speak with staff, and ask questions.
