The Township of Edwardsburgh Cardinal is committed to keeping residents informed and engaged. In addition to fulfilling all statutory advertising requirements—such as signage, mailings, and/or newspaper ads—this webpage serves as an extra resource to keep you informed about public meetings and open houses, at which you can learn more about a local initiative, provide feedback, and participate in the decision-making process.

Public meetings

A public meeting is a formal gathering where information is presented and feedback is shared on specific topics such as planning applications. These meetings may be required by legislation or simply initiated by Council. They provide an opportunity for residents to share concern or show support before decisions are made. These meetings are structured and it is recommended that you arrive at the meeting start time.

If there is an appeal period following a decision, notice of the application will remain here until the appeal period has ended. Public meetings are also shared on our Council Calendar , where you can find meeting agendas, minutes and a video link to watch online. If you'd like to participate virtually in a public meeting, please contact our Clerk.

May 4: zoning bylaw amendment, 114 and 206 Dobbie Road

The Township of Edwardsburgh Cardinal is holding a public meeting regarding zoning bylaw amendment application ZBA-2026-001 for lands municipally known as 114 Dobbie Road and 206 Dobbie Road.

The zoning bylaw amendment application will change the current zoning of the Battery Energy Storage System project area and its driveway from ‘A’, A-6’ and ‘RU’ to a site specific ‘A-16’ zone to prohibit residential development and recognize the reduced road frontage to 28 metres.

The public meeting will be held on Monday, May 4, 2026 at 5:30 p.m. in Council Chambers

March 23: zoning bylaw amendment, 2140 Dundas St

The Township of Edwardsburgh Cardinal is processing a Council Initiated zoning bylaw amendment, with the landowner’s authorization, for the property at 2140 Dundas Street in Cardinal.

A public meeting was held on March 23, 2026.

Council passed bylaw 2026-11 on March 23, under Section 34 of the Planning Act.

Open Houses

An open house is a more informal opportunity to learn about Township projects, proposals, or policies. You can drop in to review information, speak with staff, and ask questions.
