Fire Risk Update – Level 3 (High)
Fire Risk Level 3 – High Risk: Campfires are allowed only with a valid, activated burn permit and must follow all permit conditions. Campfires can be no larger than 0.6 m (2 ft) and must be contained within a non-combustible ring at least 15 cm (6 in) high, kept 6 m (20 ft) away from buildings, fences, wooded areas, property lines, or hydro/telephone lines. Only seasoned firewood may be used, and fires must be fully extinguished with water before leaving. Burn barrels, brush piles, agricultural fires, yard waste, and fireworks are not permitted. The fire department continues to monitor conditions. Check for updates at ec.burnpermits.com.

Starting February 1, 2025, the Township of Edwardsburgh Cardinal’s Blue Box recycling program will transition to being fully managed by Circular Materials, the administrator of the common collection system and a not-for-profit organization committed to building an efficient and effective recycling system in Ontario.
If you own a private well, you know it is important to sample your water regularly. Well water quality may fluctuate seasonally, so the Health Unit recommends testing in the Spring, Summer and Fall. The Township keeps a supply of free water sample kits on hand, but until now, residents would still need to travel to a drop off location in Brockville or Kemptville to have their sample tested.
